Google launches one of its ‘most significant updates’ to add more AI
Google has launched a significant update to its search engine, incorporating even more AI-powered features. These updates enhance the way users interact with search results by integrating voice and video queries. Users can now search by voice, upload videos, and even ask questions about moving objects in videos, such as asking why fish swim together in a video taken at an aquarium. The AI will provide a summarized response, along with additional resources for further exploration.
In addition, Google is rolling out AI-organized search results, starting with recipes and meal searches in the U.S. This new layout will categorize results to make them more relevant and personalized, showing top recipes, ingredients, and guides. Another key feature is the inclusion of links in the AI Overview, allowing users to navigate to supporting webpages more easily. Google is also monetizing these AI Overviews by adding ads, though these will be clearly separated from the main content.
These changes mark another step in the AI arms race among major tech companies, with Google aiming to make search more intuitive and immersive, leveraging its vast AI capabilities.
