Recently, Google users received alarming emails stating that a "new card" had been added to their accounts, leading many to believe they might have been hacked. The emails suggested that expired or old payment methods had reappeared, which caused widespread concern among recipients who had not made any changes to their accounts. Some users reported that they received multiple notifications, prompting them to change passwords or delete their cards altogether.

In response to the panic, Google clarified that the emails were sent due to a bug rather than any security breach. The company assured users that there had been no unauthorized access to their accounts and that their payment information remained secure. Google apologized for the confusion and confirmed that no action was required from users who received the erroneous notifications.
