Garth Brooks has publicly denied multiple allegations of sexual assault made by a former makeup artist who worked for his wife, Trisha Yearwood. The woman, identified as Jane Roe in the lawsuit, claims Brooks raped her in a hotel room during a work trip in 2019. Brooks has described the accusations as extortion attempts, stating he had been harassed for months with demands for hush money. He filed a counter-lawsuit to combat what he says are false accusations designed to ruin his reputation.

In a statement, Brooks expressed that paying hush money would be akin to admitting guilt for actions he says he's incapable of committing. He emphasized his trust in the legal system and affirmed his innocence. Despite the lawsuit, Brooks continued performing in his Las Vegas residency.
