Crown Film Unit has officially announced the awarding of high-value contracts to a select group of sculptors who participated in its competitive art initiative, designed to commission iconic sculptures for an upcoming blockbuster film.
The awards recognize outstanding artistic talent, innovative vision, and technical expertise, with contracts ranging from GBP £600,000 to USD $1.5 million, reflecting the scope and complexity of the commissioned works.
Contract Highlights
• First Runner-Up – Kate Ainoonson
Kate Ainoonson received a contract valued at USD $1.5 million to create a Flying Horse Sculpture. The sculpture will measure approximately 40 inches in height, 36 inches in width, and 60 inches in length, capturing the grandeur and dynamic motion of a horse in mid-flight. Kate’s project is financed by George Best, whose support has enabled the realization of this ambitious work.
• Second Runner-Up – Theresa Dunn
Theresa Dunn has been awarded GBP £900,000 to produce Three Lion Head Sculptures. Each lion head will stand at 30 inches high, 22 inches wide, and 20 inches deep, crafted with exquisite attention to detail to convey both strength and majesty. Her project is supported by financier Garard Steven Disalvio, who will assist in ensuring all project milestones are met.
• Third Runner-Up – Larry Maycock
Larry Maycock was granted a contract worth USD $600,000 to design a Lion Sculpture measuring approximately 36 inches in height, 28 inches in width, and 32 inches in depth, ensuring a commanding presence on-screen. Larry’s work is financed by Nathalie Walters, providing vital backing to bring his vision to life.
Crown Film Unit expressed their excitement over the talent represented in the selected artists, emphasizing that the commissioned sculptures will play a key role in bringing the film’s visionary concepts to life.
Each contract includes staged payments tied to project milestones, with the initial payment provided upon contract execution. Any additional costs incurred prior to milestone completion or final delivery are covered by the artist’s financier, ensuring that project expenses are managed without upfront burden on Crown Film Unit. The selected artists are expected to begin their projects following formal contract acceptance and kick-off meetings, scheduled in the coming weeks.
